Here are the 10 questions and his answers:

1. Why did you choose business?

I didn’t like having a job. I wanted to wake up every day happy about what I was doing. And the jobs I had just didn’t support that.

2. What was your first business idea and what did you do with it?

My first business idea was an online magazine. I was driven by my passion to write, and so I purchased a URL, started writing, designing and building.

3. How did you get started in the current business/startup?

After doing business coaching and consulting for almost 10 years, I realized that my favorite part of the process was helping my clients who wanted to launch businesses AND books. It really filled me with joy. So I began to phase out my business coaching and offered more coaching and consulting around writing & publishing.

4. What do you wish you knew before you started your first business?

I wish I knew that “if you build it, they will come” only works in the movie. I had no understanding of how to drive traffic, or how to monetize a site or products, etc.

5. How do you market your business? How are people aware of your business?

I speak, run ads, create content, do collaborations and use Social Media to get new eyes on my business daily.

6. What is the strangest marketing experiment you ever did?

The strangest marketing experiment was including a course in a collaborative bundle that had a rapper in the ad. LOL

7. Why do your customers select you over your competitors?

They select me because I take the stress out of book writing. I slay the myths that writing should be a labored process that you have to struggle through. My customers and clients really want that.

8. How do you motivate yourself?

I stay motivated by making my time count. I make and take time to celebrate the wins, that reminds me to focus on creating more of those feelings of winning.

9. What was the best piece of advice you ever got? The worst?

The best piece of advice I have ever gotten was “Trust YOUR Gut!”. The worst was “Check out the competition and see what they are doing that works.”

My best team management tips is – Organize your process for yourself so that you can effectively delegate.
